Sat., Sept. 7, 3:00 PM Central Park West Morton Grove Athletics Skokie Indians 2 Warriors forfeit loss (0-1) |
GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Morton Grove had three players show up, thanks to soccer conflicts and the Jewish holidays. So we divided up our team, borrowed some players from the Skokie Indians Bulldogs, used the brother of the Morton Grove coach, and got some kids from the stands. We didn't keep score, because the players switched sides during the game, etc. This was truly a sandlot pick-up game like I played when I was a kid. What a hoot! -- Coach Don Rupert, Skokie Indians 2 Warriors |

Sat., Sept. 14, 3:00 PM Central Park West Glenview 9 Pirates Morton Grove Athletics forfeit loss (0-2) |
GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Sadly, the Morton Grove Athletics had to forfeit as we did not have enough players. The Athletics had practiced earlier that day, but then scheduling conflicts prevented enough players from showing up for the game. The changed football practice and game schedules are a real problem for the Athletics. -- Coach Mases Hagopian |

Sat., Sept. 21, 12:00 PM James Park Morton Grove Athletics Evanston 2 4-18 loss (0-3) |
GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Once again, scheduling conflicts prevented the Athletics from fielding a full team at game time, though we did have eight players present. Another player arrived late (parents were stuck in traffic), but the umpire ruled according to IHSA rules that he was an automatic out. [This matter has since been clarified with all the umpires. -- the webmaster] Despite the automatic out and key players not present, the Athletics made a fairly strong showing against a solid Evanston team. -- Coach Mases Hagopian |

Sat., Sept. 28, 12:00 PM Central Park West Glenview 10 Dodgers Morton Grove Athletics x - (x + 2) win (1-3) |
GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Morton Grove only had seven players present so I (a high school age coach) provided the warm eighth body. (What the heck: it's Fall Ball, right?) This game was one of the better games this fall season because we had most of our better players there. With the approval of the NSYBA executive staff, we have rostered a few players from Edgebrook-Sauganash, who were orphaned for Fall Ball when their league was unable to field a full team. The game went pretty smoothly and we won it by two runs. -- Coach Mases Hagopian |

Sat., Oct. 5, 12:00 PM Huber East Morton Grove Athletics Glenview 7 Marlins 15-14 (2-3) |
GAME HIGHLIGHTS: This was another interesting Saturday, as both the Athletics and the Marlins were short players (seven and seven at the game start, then the Marlins got an eighth play in the third or fourth). There was no umpire, so both coaches called balls and strikes. We squeaked out the one-run victory by excellent efforts on the part of all the Athletics. This was truly a team win. Everything did something outstanding, either offensively, defensively or both. -- Coach Shant Hagopian |

Sat., Oct. 12, 12:00 PM James Park Morton Grove Athletics Evanston 3 forfeit win (3-3) |
GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The Morton Grove Athletics had a full team present, but were unable to get enough Evanston players to play them. There was no sense in letting a perfectly good diamond (James Park) go to waste, so Morton Grove A beat Morton Grove B in a split squad game. The game was close until the A team started to tee off on the pitcher who was also the coach (me, Shant). There were a few bombs hit over the fence. All in all it was not too bad for not having an actual game. Felt like a pick up game. I have not done that in a long time. What a gas! And our players got more critical innings of solid baseball practice. -- Coach Shant Hagopian |
