TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS: Saturday, October 26: I've secured Laramie Park for one last hurrah in the Fall Ball season: the Portage Park Red Sox at the Skokie Indians 1 Bulldogs on Saturday, November 2nd, 4:30 PM at Laramie (under the lights). This game was scheduled for October 19, but got mudded out. It may well be the best game of the 2002 Fall Ball season: two almost evenly matched teams captained by two excellent coaches. If you can't be there, please call Coach John Fuller. -- the webmaster Wednesday, October 2: The game tonight is cancelled, thanks to a soggy diamond and a 90% probability of more rain. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 23rd. -- the webmaster and Coach John Fuller Monday, September 30: I found you a team to play on October 16th! (One to go!) -- the webmaster Friday, September 27: I found you two teams to play on Wednesdays, October 2nd and October 9th. I'll keep hunting for October 16th and October 23rd. GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The Glenview 10 Dodgers were only able to bring five ball players to this game but the Portage Park Red Sox had 11, so we were able to play a practice type game anyway, in keeping with the NSYBA spirit of competition and sportsmanship. We ended up playing just over an inning before the rain forced us to end the contest. Well, that's fall baseball at at these latitudes. -- Coach John Fuller |
