GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The Morton Grove Cardinals prevailed over the Skokie Youth Braves by a score of 29-2. The Braves were short on pitching after going eight innings the night before, reported their manager, Steve Vogelsberg. For the Cardinals, Burdi led the attack with a five-hit game, followed by Dukes, Ceisel, and De Guzman with four hits each. Hagopian and T.So had two hits apiece. Rodi had two doubles. Lewis and Abbas blasted one hit each. Dukes and Ceisel hit home runs, Dukes' a two-run blast and Ceisel's a three-run bomb. Ceisel also hit for the cycle in this shortened game. Lewis pitched two strong shutout innings. |
