GAME HIGHLIGHTS: A classic, see-saw battle between two strong teams. The Edgebrook-Sauganash Marlins took a four-three lead in the top of the sixth inning, then the Skokie Indians Phantoms went on top five-four in the bottom. In the top of the seventh, patience with the Phantoms' pitcher and booming bats saw the Marlins draw ahead eight-five. The Phantoms overcame this three-run deficit to win it by notching four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. After the Phantoms' Rashid walked and Summers singled, Hendricks doubled them both home and then Hackett hit a long, two-run walk-off home run to win it, his second of the night. |

11. GAME DATE: OPPONENT: DIAMOND (HOME/AWAY): SCORE (RECORD): PITCHERS & INNINGS: |

Skokie Indians Newtown Phantoms Wildwood (home) 19-9 slaughter in 5-1/2 innings (6-4-1) N.Sinno (3), O.Sinno (1), Butler (1) |
|
GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The thermometer claimed it was only 90 degrees, but it must have been 130 on the broiling Wildwood infield as the Edgebrook-Sauganash Marlins sought revenge for their defeat at the hands of the Skokie Indians Phantoms two days before. The game was close until the fifth inning, when thundering Marlins bats finally put the game out of reach. Despite the infernal temperature, both teams played hard. |
