BULLDOGS GALLERY

THE TEAM

MANAGER JOE ("Arfus Maximus") HASMAN: The Biggest, Baddest Bulldog, Manager Hasman has managed sixteen years in the Skokie Indians program, starting with son Joey and continuing with son Jon. Now he is the Commissioner of the North Suburban Youth Baseball Association and Pony League Vice President for Skokie Indians.

JON HASMAN: A high school sophomore, clean shaven Coach Jon elected to work with the Bulldogs this year. A Bulldog since he was nine and natural-born teacher, his coaching has been essential to the Bulldogs' success.

TOM KENDALL: The Bulldogs' pitching coach, Coach Tom has coached and managed in the Skokie Indians system since 1995. In addition, Coach Tom is the statistician for his son's sophomore team and Webmaster / Scorekeeper for the NSYBA.

BARRY COWEN: First base and catchers coach for the Bulldogs, and possessed of a vile sense of humor,  Coach Barry has successfully coached and managed youth baseball for ten seasons, five with the Bulldogs.

JOHN JAROSZ: Scorekeeper, and outfield and bench coach for the Bulldogs, Coach John counts many seasons coaching in the Skokie Youth and Skokie Indians systems.

ALBERGO: A seventh-grader and part of our Chicago contingent, Albergo attends North Shore Academy and plays second base and outfield, in addition to pitching.

T.BERRY: Graduating from Haven Middle School in June, T.Berry is one of our star pitchers. He also gobbles up hot smashes to third base and occasionally dons the tools of ignorance behind the plate.

COWEN: Another of our Chicago contingent, Cowen's dad coaches the Bulldogs. Cowen graduates from North Shore Academy in June and will attend Loyola Academy. He spends most of his time behind the plate, where his favorite activity is throwing out base stealers.

CHROBAK: The Bulldogs' only girl, Chrobak is a dominant softball player who is successfully making the transition to hardball, a difficult feat. She attends Baker Demonstration School. Greased lightning on the basepaths, Chrobak plays a wicked second base and the outfield.

FROBERG: A seventh-grader this year, Froberg corrals errant throws at first base and shags fly balls in the outfield. Has made huge strides mastering baseball skills this year.

HARVEY: A shortstop and pitcher extraordinaire, Harvey graduates from St. Athanasius in June. He features a blazing fastball and is working on a devastating changeup and curveball.

HELLMAN: An excellent first baseman and outfielder, Hellman also has considerable pop in his bat. A seventh grader at Haven Middle School, Hellman threatens to make his own wooden bat in woodworking class next year.

HUNT: A June graduate of St. Athanasius, Hunt is another exceptional Bulldogs pitcher and shortstop. Unusually for a power hitter, he normally bats leadoff.

JAKOB: Another of our Baker Demonstration School contingent (he graduates in June), Jakob catches and plays second base and the outfield, where his speed and sure glove have made him a star.

JAROSZ: An outstanding third baseman and catcher, Jarosz is known for his lightning throws to second and third, as well as his thundering bat. Jarosz, whose father coaches the Bulldogs, will attend Niles West High School, where he plans on being just as valuable to their freshman team as he has been to the Bulldogs.

NEEDLE: An all-star infielder and outfielder, Needle is the Bulldogs' go-to relief pitcher, featuring three speeds (slow, slower and dead-in-the-water) and deadly accurate control that baffles batters. Needle, a seventh grader, attends Baker Demonstration School.

PEAK: "The Rock" came to the Bulldogs having played only one season of organized baseball but is making huge strides mastering baseball skills. A left-handed power hitter, Peak has tallied five RBI in a single inning.

~~ BULLDOGS CALL-UPS ~~

J.BERRY: Younger brother of T.Berry and a Bulldogs favorite call-up player, 12-year-old J.Berry is a solid middle infielder who clobbers pony league pitching. Look for him to be a star Bulldog in future years.

BASKIN: Our other favorite call-up player, Baskin clouted a bases-loaded triple in his first game with us against a fireball pitcher. Watch for him to be a Bulldog in future years.
